Triplicities (elements) & Quadruplicities
Once you have split the motion into the twelve signs you can split these twelve signs into more divisions. This splitting or dividing is the essence of astrology because it shows how the planets, Sun, Moon and other indicators harmonise with each other. Traditionally the signs are grouped into 4 triplicities and 3 quadruplicities.
